Storyline

Narcos tells the true-life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and Steve Murphy (Holbrook), a DEA agent sent to Colombia on a U.S. mission to capture and ultimately kill him.

Maurice Compte played a hit man for a Mexican cartel in the series Breaking Bad (2008). In Narcos, he's the colonel trying to take down Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel.

Goofs

During the scenes showing Colombian troops raiding various cocaine labs the soldiers are armed with M4A1 carbines mounted with ACOG scopes. The M4 did not enter front line service with the US military until the early 90s and the ACOG until the mid 2000s. Narcos is largely set during the 1980s.

Addicted

Having seen all Padilha movies, I was anxious to see this new Netflix series and had great expectations. He did it again. I cannot stop watching. One episode after another. OK if the cast is not Colombian. But they are all good actors and play the parts very well. I will try to finish this weekend all the episodes but i think there will be more seasons. Best series of the year so far. The action is great. The scenarios are perfect. The 1980's atmosphere is awesome. 10 out 0f 10. I hope they will make more series like that in the future. Good real stories and perfect action and direction. I could not expect less from Padilha.
