Storyline

Scientific American reveals the results of research conducted in and around North Florida and South Georgia from 1977 to 2012. The search for proof of the filmmakers hypothesis is exhausted in a fast-paced delivery of the visual data that was collected. The documentary answers the question 'Do the 'American' traditions of the past continue to flourish in the contemporary Deep South?' The answer is a resounding 'yes'. Televised preaching, chitlin eating, pecan picking and rattlesnake handling are all captured on video as proof the South of yesterday and today is likely to be the South of tomorrow. After thirty-five years of inquiry, our predictions are confirmed in this visual experiment. The researchers in this project verify the data is reliable and results can be confirmed.
