James Gunn says Drax is “blowing people’s minds” in test screenings for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

One of several surprises to come out of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista’s excellent turn as the vengeful and brutally honest Drax the Destroyer, who garnered the love of fans around the world. Drax will be back in this year’s highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with Bautista returning to fill his shoes, and if director James Gunn’s latest post on his Facebook page tells us anything, it’s that Drax will be a highlight once again.

To celebrate Bautista’s January 18th birthday, Gunn took to Facebook to share an image of him with a fully-costumed Bautista and a heartfelt message about his friend. Halfway through the post, however, Gunn begins teasing readers with audience reactions to Drax in test screenings and writes the following: “He’s been blowing people’s minds in our early screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 »

During an interview with Variety for the Ray Croc biopic The Founder, Michael Keaton was asked about the sympathetic sides to his villainous roles, to which he briefly discussed his turn as The Vulture in Marvel and Sony’s upcoming superhero blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming:

“Not to give too much away, but interestingly, he is and he isn’t [sympathetic], that character,” said Keaton. “He’s a really interesting — and more interesting than I thought — villain because there’s parts of him that you go, ‘You know what? I might see his point.’ Really, really. It makes it interesting to play”

Peter Dinklage Eyed for a Key Role in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (Exclusive)

Are Tyrion Lannister and Tony Stark about to cross paths?

Sources tell Variety that “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage is in early talks for a key role in Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Marvel had no comment.

Production on the seventh season of “Game of Thrones” recently wrapped. Since the schedule for the show has moved from a summer shoot to a fall shoot, Dinklage’s schedule allowed him to board the latest “Avengers” pic which is expected to shoot sometime in early summer.

The plan is shoot the next two “Avengers” films (“Infinity War” and a yet untitled sequel) back-to-back. Sources indicate Dinklage is expected to appear in both.
