New Trick
23 July 2014 | by (Nottinghamshire, England) – See all my reviews

Berk is expecting visitors, the Berserkers, for the annual treaty signing. But things are complicated as the Berserkers still hunt dragons, whereas the Vikings of Berk do not, so the Riders have to hide the dragons. Not only that, but Tuffnut and Ruffnut have fell out at the worst time possible, leaving Belch and Barf, their Zippleback dragon, alone. Hiccup has to get the dragon under control before Dagur, the Berserkers' new Chief, sees it.

While the story about the twins falling out and the Riders having to hide their Zippleback is good, the two things that make this episode great are the possible new antagonist, Dagur the Deranged, and the new trick the Riders have where they can instruct their dragons to do things via hand signals. These add lots to the show, especially the hand signals that Fishlegs came up with, which will no doubt be used again in the future.
