Shameless A Long Way from Home
4 March 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

The Gallagher family continues their struggles but while they all seemed to win in the end it turns out that they still have some problems that Mandy and Lip only know about. Shelia was better this week then she has been all season and now that Karen has come back to the show I guess we will get more of Karen as she interacts with the Gallaghers. The foster homes for all the kids seem like Hell especially for Debbie who gets revenge on the women. The big part of the episode was Fiona getting her day in court as she try's to get the kids for her with Frank being still trouble as he try's to be the emotional one while Fiona attacks him. The scene where Fiona makes her case for the kids was so well played by Emmy Rossum that it is one of her best moments on the show. I hope Jody can be taken away from the now that him and Shelia seem over. The scenes where Shelia gives away the baby at the start seemed quite strange but it gave Joan Cusack some great emotional work and some of her best work on the show since season one. Frank was less problematic this week as he was less cruel to everyone.

EPISODE GRADE: B+ (MVP: Emmy Rossum)
