This show was aired out of sequence. It was meant to be the second episode of the season. Krieger references Malory killing the technical operator Bilbo two episodes prior to this. Also, Malory threatens the staff by ordering Krieger to release nerve gas from the ISIS air vents. In Viscous Coupling (2013), which aired earlier, Lana discovers there are nerve gas canisters in the air vents and references Malory's threat.
While laying next to the large boulder with his sniper rifle, Archer uses his knife to scratch the word "DOM" onto the surface of the rock. This same image is featured in Viscous Coupling (2013), starring Kevin Costner. In that movie, several college grads drive to Texas to retrieve a bottle of Dom Perignon they had buried near the border. The location where they buried the bottle is marked with the word DOM carved on a large rock. The image from Archer is almost identical to the image from Fandango.

It has been suggested that Sterling Archer is autistic. The suggestion was made due to Sterling's lack of social skills, the lack of empathy, his ability to converse with animals, and the fact that he is able to count bullets in gunfights.
The knife used by Archer to carve "DOM" into the rock face is the same design from Gil Hibben used by John Rambo in First Blood (1982).
The semi-truck that Maria Moreno is driving says Pita Margaritas on the side of the truck. Pita Margaritas is a bar that the ISIS staff frequents.
