- Camille's friend, singer Aimee, collapses and dies on a boat owned by local entrepreneur Stephen Morrison and his wife Eloise, also a vocalist. Aimee was poisoned and her flat has been ransacked. She was due to leave for a recording contract in Miami and had rowed with Stephen about it whilst Eloise, jealous that Aimee was a better singer, tried to sabotage but not kill her. Poole defies Patterson whose priority is the arrest of a local illegal drinks ring to comfort Camille and catch the murderer. Dwayne and Fidel use spaced out waiter R.J. to help locate the booze supplier to no avail but Poole discovers a link between the drink smugglers and the murderer.—don @ minifie-1
- DI Richard Poole investigates the murder of Aimee Fredericks, a former classmate and close friend of DS Camille Bordey. By the time Poole arrives, Camille has already taken charge and secured the scene. She speculates her friend may have been poisoned, but is clearly upset and Poole isn't sure she should be on the case. The victim was working as an entertainer on a party boat but it was her last night as she was planning to relocate to Miami. She had argued with Steve Morrison about money, as he refused to let her out of her contract, but he claims she had the $20,000 buy her freedom. Morrison's wife Eloise admits putting rose-hip, an irritant, in her drink but denies putting in the strychnine that killed her. There are other suspects but none of them seem to have a motive. Finding out where the money was to come from provides the solution to the crime.—garykmcd
- Poole can barely keep control of the strychnine poisoning of party boat singer Aimee Fredericks, as Camille feels obliged to solve her school days friend's murder as she was on site sharing cocktails. Meanwhile Fidel gets his chance to lead an investigation supporting Poole's recommendation to admit him to brigadier exams as the commissioner bluntly demands priority for a mere case of moonshine beer smuggling. Boat owner Steve Morrison shoved his wife Eloise 'Elly' to backings in favor of promising Aimee, who was offered a Miami contract but Steven held her to a $20,000 exit clause. The only passenger who fails to hand in his camera only hides adultery. Poole also focuses on flippant barman RJ, who served the presumably fatal drinks and eagerly helps Fidel investigate the contraband beer, and supplier Grant, linking both cases to a third as key.—KGF Vissers
