Storyline

The former mayor gingerly approaches Frank after Jamie arrested his spoiled-rotten brat daughter, by the book, for drug possession and gross disrespect, which continues even in court. While Henry attends the funeral of his Hassidic friend, the New York grand rabbi, his junior son and designated successor is fatally stabbed just outdoors. Thus the firstborn, traditional successor becomes grand rabbi and prime suspect, or his bodyguard. Investigating, Danny and ex-Hassidic fellow detective Wolf Landsman find further possible motives in the rabbinical family's secret love life and consider further strong-armed acolytes opportunities. Trivia

Frank while talking to Henry about why they did not have more kids alluded to an Irish-Catholic family in the mid 50's, suggesting that is when Frank had been born. Tom Selleck, who plays Frank, was born 10 years earlier in 1945. Henry, played by Len Cariou was born in 1939, so he is only 6 years older than Tom Selleck and would have been 16 in 1955. See more »

Goofs

There is no Hassidic Grand Rebbe of New York. There are many different sects of Hassidus located in New York and they are each lead by their own Rebbe. See more »

Very inaccurate, and prejudiced.
11 January 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode highlights the complete lack of understanding the secular world has of Hassidic Jewry. As someone who knows many Hassidic Jews, though not one myself, I found the episode to be very inaccurate and negative in its depiction. Viewers should understand that Hasidim do not talk like that or act like that, and most of the religious customs depicted are untrue.

Considering the sensitivity in which Blue Bloods has attempted to portray other religions, including voodoo, I found it offensive that they seemingly couldn't even be bothered to hire a Hassidic consultant to ensure accuracy.
