The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

The film contains numerous sci-fi action scenes that take place between the aliens and the crew of The Enterprise.

These mostly take the form of shooting with ray guns and some fist-fighting between the characters.

Some of the stronger portrayals of violence include one where the alien swarm crash their ships into The Enterprise, inflicting massive damage on The Enterprise with explosions and the crew being blasted about; a scene where a character is injured by a piece of metal embedded in the side of his abdomen, and the final battle which features fist-fighting with some heavy blows visible.

As the scenes are prolonged and intense, they would be more appropriate for a teen audience.

Infrequent mild language.

An incomplete utterance of the stronger expletive, "motherf**ker", may be present in a deleted scene under some home-video releases (i.e. Blu-Ray, DVD).

'Star Trek Beyond' revolves around the crew of the USS Enterprise who embark on a rescue mission at the fringe of the charted galaxy after receiving a distress signal. However, they find themselves running into a trap and coming under attack by a seemingly unstoppable swarm of alien ships commanded by the villain Krall.

Official MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action and violence

Note: The extra features under some video-home releases (i.e. Blu-Ray, DVD) may include a segment under 'Beyond The Darkness' where members of the crew discuss the character of Zulu, the casting of an appropriate actor as his husband, as well as the reason behind the depiction of a homosexual family unit in the film.

Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action and violence
