Storyline

Bart's ex-girlfriend Mary Spuckler returns to Springfield and they start dating again. However his preference for playing computer games drives her away and, despite amatory advice from Woody Allen, Bart is unable to stop her from going off with a Brazilian boy whose record producer father has signed Mary up. Homer is also in the dog-house with Marge for forgetting an appointment and he and Bart move into apartments where disgraced husbands live. However, after watching a British romantic comedy Homer devises a grand gesture which will reconcile all the couples - except Bart and Mary. Written by don @ minifie-1

Another Good Zooey Deschanel episode,
30 May 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Love Is A Many Splintered Thing is a great Simpsons episode with a lot of laugh out loud scenes.I enjoyed Zooey Deschanel's voice role, returning once again as Cletus and Brandine's daughter Mary Spuckler, and I also really enjoyed the two brief cameo roles from Benedict Cumberbatch,I didn't realize he was in it but I saw his name in the credits and I was able to tell from that he was Alan Rickman. There are a lot of very funny bits in this episode, and I especially enjoyed the many Woody Allen references, the people I was watching this didn't get it,and I was just sitting there laughing while they made a confused face at me.People who enjoy Bart's relationship with Mary Spuckler will enjoy this episode.

Mary Spuckler returns to Springfield after her plans to become famous don't work out for her.She starts a relationship with Bart again, but he isn't very committed.
