Did You Know?

On June 13, 2013, twelve days after this episode aired, the United States Supreme Court ruled unanimously that human genes may not be patented. An opposite ruling happened in Australia the previous February. See more »

In this episode Cosima finds out that the clones are patented. This part of the plot has several errors at the same time. Even if it were possible to get a patent on human cloning (which is in fact NOT possible), a patent is granted for the maximum duration of 20 years. Moreover, a patent would never take away your human rights.... This twist in the last episode makes the whole story completely ridiculous. See more »

[first lines]
Sarah Manning: [Sarah prepares to introduce Amelia to Helena] Ready?
Amelia: Yes. I carried you both. I need to see her.
Mrs. S: I don't think that nine months of gestation entitles her to risk us all.
Sarah Manning: Hey, look, Helena's my twin sister. She has a right to know.
Mrs. S: Because you shared a womb? Helena. Is. Dangerous.

Plot twists and character deaths make a top notch finale.
24 June 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Where to begin? I suppose at the beginning. Right at the start of the episode, the police raid Mrs. S' house, arresting Sarah. However, the organization behind the cloning gets Sarah out, and brings her to a meeting with another clone. She tries to make a deal with Sarah. Throughout the episode, doctor Leke also tries to strike a bargain with the clones. This is the catalyst for one of the twists towards the end of the episode. Delphine reconciles with Cosima, and the two investigate the DNA. The police talk to Vic, who leads them to Alison, showing them that there is definitely something very strange going on. Speaking of Alison, she had a scene straight out of Breaking Bad. It was really very brutal, made even more so by a twist. The war between Helena and Sarah reaches a brutal conclusion. The very final twist leaves us on a cliffhanger. Very strong finale, look forward to season 2.
