Saturday Night Live Host: Justin Bieber
10 February 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Super Bowl Blackout: The Blackout at the super bowl was very unprepared for and we see a sketch about how bad it really was. It's not entertaining as we see these news people giving up and not having anything to say. They keep advertising 2 Broke Girls as it was aired on CBS. The lights come back on and everyone is overjoyed. B- (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

Monologue: Justin Bieber steps from the stage to host for his first time. Valetine's is Thursday and they must make a joke about how the girls love him, but he also likes Black history month wanting a girl who celebrates both events. This involves roses and Bieber going to girls which ends with Whoopi being his perfect girl. C (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

The Californians: Without Kristen Wiig this sketch has just lost everything and bringing in Bieber just makes it even worse. They try to go for their usual jokes but Armisen and Hader are the main stables of the sketch but are just not as funny anymore. They really try but fail once again to capture the magic. D+ (MVP: Fred Armisen)

Justin Bieber At Madison Square Garden: Bieber comes off stage and his bodyguard has the idea for these twelve people to impersonate him. None of them look, sound or dance like him which is a big problem. McKinnon makes another appearance as Ellen which is the funnies thing about the sketch. C (MVP: Kate McKinnon)

The Moroccans Of Mulholland Drive: Bravo has too many reality shows and this sketch is about making fun of that with all these idiotic unnecessary shows being created for no reason. Too many shows that they seem to create the same show is another joke stuffed in there. C (MVP: Bobby Moynihan)

Justin Bieber - "As Long As You Love Me": Bieber is also the musical guest for the night which means he has the sing. His new album is about his hits being done in an acoustic version of these songs. He just cannot sing in my mind so I nearly skip over the performance. D- (MVP: N/A)

Weekend Update: Head stories for this week include the record breaking snow, Drones flying overhead, Gun problems and more super bowl stuff. The first guests are the Armisen and Bayer playing the friends of Richard III (they are still alive?), it's the same humor and now overdone is not funny once again. They leave and the second guest is Corey the black guy in all super bowl commercials, he is funny but too much of the same stuff. B- (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

Grease Rip-Off Sketch: A rip-off of the song "Summer Lovin'" as we hear Angie and Billy talk about the date they had. The girlfriends seem to notice how childish Billy acts while the guys love hearing about what he did with Angie. They end up gong steady together even though she is much older then him, he needs to end this with a song performance. C- (MVP: Cecily Strong)

The Miley Cyrus Show: Miley has not done her show in some time that she now has her new sexy short haircut. She does not have a celebrity guest instead having the head of her fan club played by Justin badly making fun of himself. Miley seems older as Billy does not like her jokes. She is herself but only with the haircut. B (MVP: Vanessa Bayer)

Eddie: Heather returns home with her boyfriend Michael and her older brother Eddie comes into the room. The first words Michael says to him sets him off no matter what else Eddie says. Throughout their talk Eddie laughs at Michael (almost making Bieber laugh for real). He is a big character being left alone. C (MVP: Tarran Killam)

A Sexy Valentine's Day Message From Justin Bieber: Bieber sends his Sexy message with a strange guy named Tacco also in the sketch. It was very hard to watch everything in the quick sketch. E+ (MVP: N/A)

Justin Bieber - "Nothing Like Us": Another performance by Bieber and I still hate watching him sing because he cannot sing. E+ (MVP: N/A)

Booker T. Washington Valentine's Day Dance: The high school has their dance with Prinicpal Fry and his many speech's. The dance is run by the couple of Bryce and Mary who support abstinence. Fry continues to speech but it never gets funny. C+ (MVP: Jay Pharoah)

Bieber was not funny and while he was given so many chances it was hard to watch as he was playing to all the young girls. My favourite sketch was The Miley Cyrus show while the worst one was the Valentine's Day Message. Thompson and Bayer were the standouts because of the many sketches they got. Still they under use McKinnon compared to the start of the season.

EPISODE GRADE: C (MVP: Vanessa Bayer)
