Storyline

Jessica obtains the manuscript from Arby after he has told her they are siblings and Dugdale and his wife successfully get Anya released on condition she sells them her baby. Becky makes a call to her drug dealer Donaldson, who promises a limitless supply if she can find him the manuscript. Letts is not Mr Rabbit but explains that the Network's plan is to flood the market with the chemicals to curtail over-population and Becky and Ian are appalled that Wilson approves the idea. Wilson in fact releases Letts whilst the others are out but Letts is killed by his assistant and Geoff on his return to Corvadt. Having shown Milner samples of the vaccine taken from Letts Ian, Alice and Grant take them to Dugdale, but he betrays them by calling the police and Grant is arrested. Written by don @ minifie-1

Quotes

Letts: We've now passed seven billion on this planet. When I was born, it was a little over two. Food prices rising, oil's ending. When our resources end in twenty years, given everything that we know of our species, do you really think we're going to just share?
Becky: So your answer to that is some kind of genocide?
Letts: No, it is not, it is not genocide. Our answer to this is Janus.

Who is working with whom?

As the series approaches its conclusion we finally learn what the grand conspiracy is all about; fearing torture Letts explains that the Russian Flu vaccine is actually designed to sterilise ninety to ninety five percent of the population. The Network believes that the only way for humanity to survive is to drastically reduce the ever increasing population! Becky and Ian are horrified but Wilson sees some logic in the idea. Ian and Becky then take the vaccine to Milner but aren't sure about whether or not she can be trusted. While this is going on Jessica and Arby are heading to retrieve the manuscript and Dugdale is trying to make a deal that will get him and his family out of danger permanently.

This, the penultimate episode, provided some important answers without letting us know who exactly we could trust; even the protagonists could end up working for the bad guys due to various pressures they are under. The cast continue to perform well and the director has filmed the action in a way that gives everything a slightly unreal look; this nicely heightens the sense that things aren't what they should be. The only real disappointment is knowing that there is only one episode left!
