She's hilarious!

This particular episode was my recent introduction to this series, viewed here in the States on Public TV. I hope it's typical of the show's overall quality, as Miranda and her supporting cast are a hoot!

I was surprised to see Tom Ellis, in this segment revealed to be an ex- boyfriend of Miranda's. He's currently riding high on American TV as the flamboyant star of "Lucifer" and I was immediately intrigued at the contrast of his underplaying next to Miranda, compared to his over the top (though hardly on a level of hers) on his own U.S. hit show.

But for physical comedy, fabulously unpredictable shtick and just overall goofiness it is hard to beat this British actress. Even the great TV physical comediennes of yore, like Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett, never went this far in pursuit of laughs, and perhaps the uncensored nature of Miranda's acting (including considerable off-color and suggestive physical comedy this time out after she elects to "go commando" helps her, just as the recent decades of comedians "going blue" makes it hard to compare them to their brilliant but G-rated predecessors.

The Dinner Party

Warning: Spoilers
Lovely, verging on farcical stuff here from 'Miranda' in which the lovable comedienne tries to have a grown up dinner party, and then falls flat on her face.

With all the gang having their moment to shine (Clive isn't around in S3, and his absence really isn't felt), this is up there with the best of the series.
