Falling into split categories as a short musical film and music video, "Far from Heaven" was awarded "Best Alternative Rock Video" at The Akademia Music Awards in Beverly Hills, California, on May 15, 2013.
During production of the film, the entire last scene was rewritten due to scheduling conflicts and time constraints.
Director Chris Mauldin played Hacker, the lead character, in a few scenes and brief shots throughout the film. In those scenes Hacker's face is not seen.
This was 4-year old Cody Clayton Hebert's (i.e., Hacker as a young boy) first acting experience.
This is the first short film collaboration between writer Howard Lawrence and director Chris Mauldin.
