A Solid If Unspectacular Show
carologletree14 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This was a good show, but like WM 27, it had only one match that really stood out. At least this show has a better main event and generally a better flow than WM 27.

6-Man Tag Team Match: The Shield vs. Randy Orton, Sheamus, and The Big Show - This was an okay opener. The wrestling was basic throughout, but it got really hot toward the end. It could have used a few more minutes. The Shield get the win after Big Show betrays his team. RATING: **3/4

Ryback vs. Mark Henry - It was pretty much what I expected. Given that Ryback was still green and Mark Henry was never that good of a worker, there was no way it could have been anything great. Mark Henry wins. RATING: **

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Team Hell No (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston - This was pretty good for a filler match. The play-off of Bryan's match at WrestleMania the previous year was very well done and the teams worked well together. Team Hell No retain the titles with Bryan's Flying Headbutt. RATING: ***

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango - A nice little match. Nothing too special, but it was a nice back-and-forth contest while it lasted. Chris Jericho carried Fandagno pretty well. Fandango wins with a roll-up and gets a major upset. RATING: **3/4

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger - I really liked this match. It had some good technical work and the exchanges of submission maneuvers was very well done. However, the lack of crowd involvement and a length of only 9 minutes keep this from being anything great. Alberto Del Rio retains the Championship by submission with the Cross Arm Breaker. RATING: ***1/4

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk - This was another outstanding Undertaker WrestleMania match. The match had no shortage of near-falls and the atmosphere really added to the whole thing. There were many memorable moments, particularly The Undertaker no-selling the GTS. The Undertaker wins with a Tombstone Piledriver, extending his streak to 21-0. RATING: ****1/2

No-Holds Barred Match: Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (Triple H's Career is on the line) - I've seen better from both guys, but this was still a very good match. It made Brock Lesnar look like a real beast, and the match got very exciting in the last 5 minutes. This is definitely better than their underwhelming Summerslam Match. Triple H wins with a Pedigree to the steel steps. RATING: ***1/2

WWE Championship Match: The Rock (c) vs. John Cena - This was a good main event, but it wasn't nearly as good as their previous match. It lacked the atmosphere of before and the excessive finisher kick-outs really hurt the match. However, it did have good storytelling elements, such as that play-off to their previous encounter. John Cena wins the Championship with a 3rd Attitude Adjustment. RATING: ***1/2

Not one of the best WrestleManias by any means, but still a solid show overall. There's enough good on here to make it worth your time.

RATING: B

WrestleMania!!! Twice in a Lifetime!!! I Guess???

Warning: Spoilers
WrestleMania 29 Thoughts

WrestleMania 29 was the 29th annual WrestleMania taking place on April 7, 2013 at the Medlife Station in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Attendance at the time was the 2nd Attendance in WrestleMania history behind WrestleMania III with 80,676 fans (at least, according to Vince). The show featured 3 key match ups building up to it. The Rock defended the WWE Championship against John Cena in a rematch from last year's "Once-in-a-lifetime". Unfortunately Rock was set to appear and wrestle a few more times in the future but an injury in the middle of the match made this his last WrestleMania match (not counting a squash years later). CM Punk, who was also in his last WrestleMania, had a personal feud with Undertaker that started with Punk mocking the death of his Undertaker's storyline father, Paul Bearer and stealing his urn of ashes. Sick and disgusting storyline at the time to be honest. Triple H put his career on the line against Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred match after attempting to get a revenge for what Lesnar did to his father-in-law and breaking his Arm in their match at SummerSlam months earlier.

The Good - Undertaker vs. CM Punk turned out to be the best match of the night. Honestly, this was probably Undertaker's last great match at WrestleMania. Both were really working well together and the crowd really was pumped up. Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H turned out to be pretty good too. Not as good as the one they had at SummerSlam but it was still a fun match. I also enjoyed the opening 6 man tag team match and the World Heavyweight Championship match too as they turned out better than expected.

The Meh - Fandango vs. Chris Jericho was a good match but I feel Jericho should have been placed in something better. While Brock vs. HHH was good, it did dragged on a bit too slow. It also was not a bright idea for the last 3 matche to take place back-to-back.

The Bad - Main Event was a huge disappointment. I do remember questioning why we didn't have a Triple Threat Match with CM Punk involved due to Punk slightly having a minor role in the WWE Championship for 2 weeks after failing to regain it from the Rock in a rematch after No Way Out. John Cena vs. The Rock felt like a copy of the previous year and was repetitive with the crowd showing no interest. It was obvious WWE wanted Cena to just get a win over him. Ryback vs. Mark Henry was also a snoozed fest and the worst match of the night.

Overall - Not as good as last year but it wasn't a failure. If the main event wasn't a Lackluster, The Show would have probably been better as a whole. Good undercard and a terrific Undertaker vs. CM Punk match is definitely a worth re-watching of this event.

Score - 6 out of 10: Decent

0 = Terrible: 1 = Bad/Lackluster: 2 = Decent: 3 = Good: 4 = Awesome: 5 = One of the Best of all Time:

1. The Shield vs. Big Show, Sheamus, and Randy Orton - 3/5

2. Mark Henry vs. Ryback - 1.5/5

3. Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston vs. Team Hell No: WWE Tag Team Championship - 3/5

4. Fandango vs. Chris Jericho - 3/5

5. Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio: World Heavyweight Championship - 3/5

6. Undertaker vs. CM Punk - 4/5

7. Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred) - 3/5

8. The Rock vs. John Cena: WWE Championship - 1.5/5

Best Match - Undertaker vs. CM Punk

Worst Match - Ryback vs. Mark Henry

Most Memorable Moment - Honestly no outstanding highlight

Top 5 Performers

1. Undertaker

2. CM Punk

3. Triple H

4. Brock Lesnar

5. The Rock (Despite the lame rematch, he put up a good performance while being injured)

Disappointing Wrestlemania
Mazden9023 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Growing up a wrestling fan my whole life, Wrestlemania is a tradition at my house. Well this year when Wrestlemania, everyone in my house was left disappointed. There were a lot of key moments left off the show, one being "America the Beautiful", Pyro display, Backstage Interview/Promos, and even a match was scrapped due to time constraints. It felt very rushed at times which kinda ruined the viewing experience. It's definitely not the worst Wrestlemania, but definitely not close to being one of the best. Results Below:

WWE Intercontinental Championship The Miz Def Wade Barret (C) Very dull match, The Miz winning the title set the tone for the show and was only set up to try and sell more people to order the pay per view. 3/10

The Shield Def. Big Show, Sheamus, and Randy Orton Not bad of a match but was very surprised to see as the opener. The crowd was hot for the whole thing which made it even better. It was a little short but still not that bad. All three members of the shield made there Wrestlemania debut and came out with a win. 6/10

Mark Henry Def. Ryback This match was BAD, i had low expectations for this match and was just waiting for Ryback to Shellshock Mark Henry. Well the finish came when Mark Henry fell on Ryback and pinned him. Yeah you read that correctly... After the match Ryback eventually got up and still Shellshocked Henry. So if you were gonna have him do that anyway, than why not just book that as the finish of the match?! Neither man got anything from this. 2/10

WWE Tag Team Championship: Kane and Daniel Bryan (C) Def. Dolph Ziggler and Big E. Langston First thing's first, someone need's to tell Langston to wear longer attire! Anyway this was a very fun match, I wish it went a little longer than what it did but it was still really entertaining, Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler are the future of this business and this show's you why. 6/10 if it went longer, 7/10

Fandango Def. Chris Jericho Chris Jericho is definitely the right guy that was chosen to go against Fandango in his debut. Y2J is a veteran and was able to help Fandango go through a pretty good match in his debut. There were a few botches at the end but anything can happen live. Plus both men had a cool entrance. 6/10

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio Def. Jack Swagger No one cared about this match, the only thing that people cared about was to see if Ziggler was going to cash in his MITB contract, which he didn't do. Other than that this match was mediocre at best. 4/10

Undertaker Def. CM Punk W/ Paul Heyman WOW! I was skeptical of how this match was gonna go due to Undertaker's health, damn did he prove me and everybody wrong! These two had an amazing match with an incredible story told in the ring. There was a spot where Taker was laying on the table and Punk went for the "Macho Man" elbow and the table didn't break, looked very painful. Paul Heyman was also a star with just his facial expressions at ringside. Near fall after near fall and the finish came when Punk went to give Undertaker the Tombstone but Taker counter and nailed the Tombstone Piledriver for the win and extend his streak to 21-0. 8.5/10

Triple H Def. Brock Lesnar Very bad spot for these guys to be in as the crowd was tired from Undertaker and Punk but these two tried to give a good match. It was definitely a lot better than the snooze fest the had at Sunmerslam. Not a bad street fight but not Wrestlemania caliber. 6/10

WWE Championship: John Cena Def. The Rock (C) This match was not that good at all. I thought the match they had the year prior was ten times better. The crowd in attendance let them know how they felt, as both men were boo'ed. There were a few points in the match that related to their first encounter that were pretty good, but the last 5 minutes of the match was just each guy going for their finisher so when the finish came it was very anti-climatic. The show ended with The Rock "Passing The Torch" to John Cena as the New York Crowd Boo'ed their ass off. 5/10

For me there was only 3 matches that lived up to the hype and i was left very disappointed when the show was over, not worth $60 but I know i'll order Wrestlemania each year anyway. If you plan on buying the DVD/Blu Ray, I would only get it to watch Undertaker vs. CM Punk and the full Hall of Fame ceremony.
