Saturday Night Live Host: Adam Levine
27 January 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Obama and Martin Luther Jr.: Inauguration Night with Obama happy. He thinks about Martin Luther King Jr. and he arrives out of smoke. They sit down and talk with Martin speaking about Beyonce and how beautiful she is. Obama just wants to talk about issues but Martin wants to be cool because it is his day off. Marin does leave with some goals he wants Obama to reach which include a black king of england as one of them. B (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

Monologue: Past musical guest (earlier this season) Adam Levine hosts for the first time. He mentions the Voice and some chairs spin around including Andy Samberg, Cameron Diaz and Jerry Seinfeld wanting to coach him in comedy. He is told to take off his shirt and so does it. C+ (MVP: Cameron Diaz)

Rosetta Stone Thai: Helps normal people learn some languages to help them when they go on holidays and in their normal lives. D (MVP: N/A)

Circle Work: Todd Anthony and Tracey are two gay hosts who speak to straight people about their problems. The first guest is having too much sex and they say that her husband is trying to prove he is straight. The second guest cannot get a women and after it is spelled out for him (litraly) he figures out he is gay. B- (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

The Sopranos Diaries: The Carrie Diaries is a success I guess so the CW has made one for the sopranos. We get to see all our favourite characters such as Tony, Silvio, Paulie and Sal. They are still violent and the relationships are the same. The women who seem to make cameos are Janice, Jennifer and the funniest of all Kate McKinnon (she only gets like one sketch every show now) as Carmela. A (MVP: Kate McKinnon)

Fire Department Fundraiser: Bryce a quiet fireman turns near insane when a fellow worker Jerry talks to his ex. Bryce does not react well and most of the time he spends his time screaming which can get to much and hurt your ears at times. He becomes even more insane dancing and exiting the room down a fire pole. C (MVP: Bill Hader)

Yolo: Return of the digital shorts this time Adam Levine joining into to sing "YOLO: You Only Live One". Kendrick Lamar also makes a cameo as we see all these sining about having a good life. C (MVP: The Lonely Island)

Kendrick Lamar - "Swimming Pools (Drank)": Makes his first SNL appearance singing his song which is fine but nothing special compared to people who have performed on the show in his genre. C+ (MVP: Kendrick Lamar)

Weekend Update: Headlines of course for the week include Obama's speech, Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" 50th Anniversary and The pope posting in Latin on twitter just to name a few. The first guest is the return of Arianna Huffington (Nasim Padrad) and she once again is her flirtatious self with Seth. She speaks about women in the world including Hilary seeming very happy about how women are doing. The second guest is Ray Lewis who seems very emotional when he speaks about things he likes. He speaks super bowl while trying to keep calm and not break down. B (MVP: Nasim Padrad)

Maroon 5 Versus Train: The two bands are in the same bar which is not good. Adam and Patrick Monaghan have a dance fight. In later walks singers like Jason Mraz and John Mayer. They all then dance together. D+ (MVP: Adam Levine)

Catfish: The successful movie is made into a TV show hosted by Nev. He try's to help Jaz and the guy she believes is the perfect guy for her. Nev then helps her find out Adam Applebee's was a fake account but still she likes the guy who set up the account. E (MVP: Adam Levine)

Kendrick Lamar - "Poetic Justice": Second performance by the guy and once again he is fine but at least the second time around he was better. B- (MVP: Kendrick Lamar)

Janet And Adam Levine: Janet does it again this time taking Adam Levine home with her. He seems to really like her but after some time it becomes uncomfortable to watch. They make their way to the bed but he then decides to leave. Janet gets trapped but Adam does nothing to help. D (MVP: Bobby Moynihan)

Biden Bash: Obama's inauguration is over and Biden is holding a massive party. It's in Denver and there are supposed to be a lot of fun things to do. He also has some musicals guests but it's just a big crazy mess in my mind.E (MVP: Jason Sudeikis)

This was an OK episode with some funny moments but then some sketch's that just seemed to be lazy for the team of writers. Adam was fine at host but he felt awkward at times when he looked to a corner where the lines must have been. Kate McKinnon only seems to be getting one sketch now but she is just so great she steals it. Nasim made a return and everything she was given was great.

EPISODE GRADE: C (MVP: Nasim Padrad)
