Even among those couples who love each other daily, pre-nuptial agreements can become a very thorny issue as this episode indicates.

Alicia and several other lawyers are offered partnerships, providing they kick in $600,000 for the right to be a partner. Isn't there an ethical dilemma here, especially when the firm is in such financial dire straits?

Michael J. Fox is again excellent as the sly, cunning, Lewis Canning. As the owner of the firm's debt, he will literally stop at nothing to destroy Lockhart-Gardner.

Christine Baranski really stands out in this episode for telling Alicia up front how one succeeds in this law business. Alicia is submissive all the way.
