Definitely one of the better episodes of season 4, It Gets Better follows George Michael as he ventures into university, grows up and accidentally becomes a business star in software. George Michael is probably the second most important character of the series, after Michael, so he has to have a big story, and unsurprisingly, the season finale (Michael had the season opener). And It Gets Better does him justice.

We start with the George Michael we know, with his father making him miserable, tearing up his birthday cheque and giving him the stair car. As George Michael becomes quasi-rebellious, he's still quite lame, drinking Pepsi at breakfast and trying out GOB's Segway. He's still unlucky, as one can see from the kissing experiment. The episode eventually makes him OS- that was inevitable, the character has to progress. But the writers still keep him George Michael at the core; they tease us with an almost-chicken dance, and poke fun at him still with his woodblock and internal clock. That, in turn, ties in with a clever explanation for the origins of Fakeblock. Unfortunately, his moustache looks awful.

Two shocking details about this episode: a reveal of Tracy, previously an unseen character, which took guts. She's also not the Bland Ann type that some fans theorized her to be. The other is a tease that George Michael got a Spanish woman pregnant. This isn't the first time AD has played with this- it's hinted Michael got Maggie Lizer pregnant in season 2, Kitty got George's reproductive material in season 2, and GOB may have impregnated Ann in season 4. Whether all this comes back- whether anything is planned with this- we have yet to see. Maybe in that 17-episode season 5 we're now promised?
