Modern Family New Year's Eve
13 January 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Mitchel, Cameron, Claire, Phil, Jay and Gloria (the parents) are all going for New Year's to Palm Springs while their kids all stay at home. Gloria just wants grapes while Cameron and Mitchell are excited to be doing something for New Year's. The parents arrive at the hotel but it is nothing like they expect not being good really at all. Claire gets to her room and just wants romance because she has not slept with Phil in over a month. They are told of a hot spring. Mitchell and Cameron want to go to a club but they all have dinner with Jay and Gloria. Back at home Manny and Luke have some girls over which surprises Alex and Haley. Manny makes fun of his date while Luke wants to kiss his. Everyone leaves Jay by himself so he goes to play a poker game with some of the older people of the hotel. Cameron and Mitchell look at gay clubs but end up going to one when they are very younger then most people who are there. Claire tells Phil she wants sex they continue to run to the spring. Alex and Haley then act like parents to Luke by not letting him kiss his girlfriend. Gloria then shows up at the poker game looking for her grapes. Phil and Claire alone in the spring are joined by the nudest society of the town to celebrate new year's together. Everyone celebrates new year with Cameron and Mitchell in the bar, Phil and Claire nude and Alex with Haley watching Luke sleep. This was an average episode of the show with some plots not working but they did all seem to gel together even if it did not work for me.

EPISODE GRADE: B- (MVP: Sarah Hyland)
