This one made me chuckle....

Like most of the early, early examples of film, I cannot really give this one a numerical score because the film is so brief--less than a minute. Let's just say that is did make me laugh--and that's reason enough to give it a look.

"Happy Hooligan" is based on a comic character of the same name by Frederick Burr Opper. It debuted in 1900 and was so popular that films with the character came out in 1900 and 1903--this is the 1903 version.

It begins with Happy and a friend standing under a window serenading an old lady with their Hurdy Gurdy. However, she is NOT at all pleased and yells at them to go! A cop hears her yelling and comes--arriving just after the organ grinder leaves but in time to get hit with stuff the lady is tossing at the two vagabonds. Cute.
