Storyline

Dexter has to act quickly when Hannah tells him Elway is staking out the airport. He finds a way to get him out of the way but it also leads to the entire airport being closed. With a hurricane bearing down on Miami, few options are open to them. Dexter races to the hospital when he learns that Deb has been shot. She seems to be recovering and he decides to send Hannah and Harrison to Jacksonville where they could catch a flight. A return trip to the hospital leads to Saxon's arrest but also bad news about Deb. Realizing that he has, directly or indirectly, been responsible for the death of everyone he's ever loved, Dexter accepts there is only one option open to him. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

In the flashback scene between Deb and Dexter in the hospital, the mesh lining of a wig the actress is wearing (to reflect her older hair style) can clearly be seen in the parting of the hair. See more »

Harrison Morgan: Are we almost there?
Dexter Morgan: It's, uh, Gate 209. Just a couple more.
Harrison Morgan: I want some Oreos.
Dexter Morgan: There'll be food on the plane. Come on, you promised to help me count.
Harrison Morgan: Two hundred and ten...
Dexter Morgan: There you go.
Harrison Morgan: [narrating] I always thought that if I ever left Miami, I'd be running for my life. Not running towards a new one.

Truly awful
24 September 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After watching 'Dexter' for the past 8 seasons with my girlfriend, we felt that to have it finish the way it did was very anti-climatic.

I will not spoil it for those yet to see it but the feeling of shouting at the telly 'Oh come on - you have got to be kidding me' at the conclusion was very strong. Had I been able to go all 'Elvis' on my telly at that moment I would have as after spending so much time with these characters, we honestly felt cheated.

Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy - so many plot holes simply passed over to get the series wrapped up and that is without even mentioning some of the poorest C.G.I near the end we have seen in ages.

We now wish we had stopped watching it during a series high, rather than this damp squib.

Glad its now over if that is the best that could be done to be honest.
