Storyline

Dr. Vogel tells Dexter that Deb was traumatized when she tried to kill him. Now that she's hit rock bottom, things will improve. Dexter isn't too happy with either Vogel or Deb and concentrates on finding serial killer A.J. Yates. Deb and Dexter have another problem when Yates kidnaps Vogel and they set out to rescue her. At the station, the police continue investigating the death of Norma Rivera. She had sex not long before dying and they assume that whoever that was is also the man who killed her. They have a suspect, her former employer Ed Hamilton, who admits to having had sex with her but insists she was alive when he last saw her. Dexter wonders if Hamilton's son Zach might have been involved. Vince Masuka meanwhile has confirmed that Nikki is his daughter and is quite taken by the idea of fatherhood. Quinn warns him to be careful about relatives who appear out of nowhere. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

As every loyal Dexter fan knows, Dexter is set in Miami; however, when Dexter and Deb are driving to find Dr. Vogel, one of the street signs says "Rimpau" in the characteristic blue and white of Los Angeles street signs. There is not a Rimpau street in Miami and most Miami street signs are green with white letters. See more »

Dr. Evelyn Vogel: [presiding] Well, we're never gonna get anywhere unless one of you starts talking... Okay. Debra, it seems that you tried to kill Dexter as well as yourself.
Debra Morgan: Yes, but then I saved him.
Dexter Morgan: You saved me? You only had to save me because you tried to kill me.
Debra Morgan: I know, but...
Dexter Morgan: You almost left my son an orphan. Harrison, who's gonna take care of him? Who?
Debra Morgan: I don't know.
Dexter Morgan: All I've done my whole life is try to take care of you, to protect you.

Best Heart Pumping Episode So Far!!
28 July 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

"This Little Piggy"- Here we see Dexter and Deb in Dr. Vogel house in a awkward situation after Debs raging stunt. Dexter has this rage in him we never saw confronting Deb of what she did. It surpasses of how we see Dexter's human side which is a fun to watch making us say "whoa!". This is episode is indeed one of the best episodes of Season 8. A major cat and mouse game episode with the "Brain Surgeon" exciting the tension of what's gonna happen next.

We have some great Masuka scenes which involves her new "daughter" Nikki. Then we have Quinn of course being Quinn but, seems to really want to make a huge change for himself. Deb on the other hand is slowly regaining her though process back together. Vogel is cool as ever! As for Dexter, we see Dexter do his Dexter thing.
