- TriviaAlthough the Winchesters know James from a previous case, James Frampton never appeared in a previous episode.
- GoofsThis episode is set in "East St. Louis" and not St. Louis according to the opening descriptor. East St. Louis is located in the State of Illinois while St. Louis is located in the State of Missouri. The states are separated by a major river. While the boys are supposed to meet their witch cop friend in his precinct in East St. Louis, the station has a few references to the State of Missouri instead of the State of Illinois. For example, the Missouri state flag is on the outside of the station, not the Illinois flag.
- Quotes
Sam Winchester: [Talking about what he thinks is a stray dog that wandered into their motel room] Okay. Before you get pissed off, look, I-I just want you to know this isn't my fault. She just showed up at the door, okay? Didn't track in any mud. Just wanted her belly scratched. I-I figured maybe she could stay tonight, and we'd try and find her a home tomorrow.
[Opens door, the "dog" has turned into a beautiful woman]
Dean Winchester: ...She can stay the night.

And even if that were the case, putting it back into its "native habitat" wouldn't erase some highly troubling things pertaining to the character Portia.
If I were advising a friend who was starting the show from the beginning, I'd probably point out a few other episodes that fell a little flat and could probably be skipped. This is the one I'd tell them outright not to waste 40 minutes on. It gets a 3 based on "production wasn't too bad", but I kind of want my time back.
