Watching Denise Quiñones pole dancing is reason enough to watch this movie
skelyrata16 June 2023
I saw Las Camelias, the Puerto Rican adaptation of the novel "La Dama de Las Camellias" by Alexandre Lumas, is an erotic comedy, starring Denise Quiñones and directed by Paloma Dove Suau.

It tells the story of Margarita (Denise) who is a dancer and prostitute at the Las Camelias brothel. There she falls in love with Armando, while she captures the attention of a producer who wants to take her to star in her next movie. Here is the conflict of the film.

The film entertains and maintains a light atmosphere through the use of comedy.

Sure, seeing Denise Quiñones pole dancing and seducing her clients is reason enough to watch the movie.

However, I was waiting for more; the film avoids taking risks.

I know the challenges of making movies in Puerto Rico and releasing a feature film is an achievement in itself.

In short, La Camelias, by Paloma Suau, entertained me and was excellent visual food, but it didn't make my imagination fly.

I recommend that you go see Las Camelias so that you can come to your own conclusions.
