Things continue to develop. We now have the introduction of characters a who claim to have spoken to Danny. Beth is pursued by a guy who tells her that the person who killed her child is someone she knows well and to stop trying to find out who it is. She is so vulnerable, she begins to seek this man out. She is also pregnant and the young local priest checks on her. Are his attentions honorable. Meanwhile, Mark is caught in a lie, having had a fling that night with the local hotel owner. His lies and brings suspicion upon his good friend, whom he asks to lie for him. Alec is beside himself. He has some connection with the reporter who refers to something he did in the past. There is so much to wonder about, including the interview with Ellie's son, a friend of the deceased. He is hiding something, it would appear. There is also blood evidence on Mark's boat, making the closing scene really interesting.
