Prelude To A Death
28 February 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

While the double dealing and back stabbing is increasing to a fever pitch, it appears the war is about to come when J R's Funeral is in the next episode. There is a lot going on in this one as even JR is briefly harassing his brother Bobbie.

We are getting more towards John Ross taking over as the chief baddie but in a shrewd script move he is enlisting Sue Ellen (Mom) to help him achieve his goals. Does this mean Sue Ellen is going to become a mean mom bent on revenge when JR dies? While there is a lot of smoke and fire going on here, there should be some shifts in characters that main event will enable to happen.

One thing I am wondering for next episode- is JR going to die of natural causes or are we in store for an interesting twist on his death on the show versus Hagman's real life death? This episode reveals nothing about that. Bobby going to the empty JR's room at Southfork near the end of this episode is a nice touch.
