Storyline

The quiet, affluent suburb of Delmar, New York, was considered anything but dangerous...until 21-year-old Chris Porco was accused of brutally murdering his father Peter and disfiguring his mother Joan in a savage ax attack, a claim made all the more shocking when the case's lead detective Joe Sullivan believed Joan had identified Chris as her attacker. Weeks after the crime, however, Joan would refute Detective Sullivan's story, while the town of Delmar and many of Chris' former friends and girlfriends would also rally to his defense, despite Sullivan's fierce mission to prove his guilt. Prosecutors believed that beneath Chris' picture-perfect facade was a greedy and cunning sociopath who would stop at nothing to keep his lies hidden. In the end, he was convicted of second-degree murder of his father, but many in the town of Delmar firmly believe that the prosecution rushed to judgment and the jury wrongfully convicted an innocent young man. Good real life story except he's no Romeo IRL
1 January 2016 | by (America) – See all my reviews

People from around the world have seen this now and so many people must be disgusted that this is based on a real guy who decided to kill his parents for his own gain. I almost wasn't going to review it myself due to the slime factor, but figured he'd hate it if I did and I'm free due to not choosing to get rid of people who love me- so here I am. This movie wasn't totally based on his story because he was no romeo in the romantic sense of the word. More a trying to sweet talk people and pull the wool over their eyes kind of guy. He is so disconnected from reality that you can see it in his eyes. He looks like a kid who has been living on computer games and is unable to look people in the eyes with any clarity at all while asking 'why would I do that?" in response to most questions about the crime. Now that is no Romeo. I bet he tried though and wasn't successful like the smooth talking overly connected guy in the movie who women seemed to fall for so easily. As long as viewers do a little research for themselves and take the movie with a grain of salt if you get to see it, it's OK and brings awareness to these types of things that exist in our society thinking they're smarter than us. I wonder why he tried to get this movie cancelled from syndication for being fake when his whole life was fake so he shouldn't have had a problem with this. I saw it in 2013 with friends from overseas who all thought the real guy had nothing on the actor in the looks department either. So I guess it wasn't real after all in more ways than one.
