Kinda fun, Kinda stylish, Kinda amateurish...
22 April 2014 | by (Sunny Southern California, USA) – See all my reviews

It's very interesting that another reviewer here mentions a completely different Director's Version distributed by another company. I don't personally know anything about that, but I DID just finish watching the U.S. release and I can see where he was coming from.

Without knowing that there is another version, my first thought also was that a GOOD director would have made this a HELL of a lot better. However, apparently it must have been the producers who edited it post-production. But, it still is a fun enough 80 minutes or so. Shame too... Because I can just see where SOMEONE must have messed with it and, as usual, screwed with it. If so, then they, AS USUAL, should have just left the Director's original intention alone.

Trejo does a good job though and a few of his lines are pretty good. My favourite was the one he said after dealing with the French lawyer. Pretty funny. And, OF COURSE, Jonathan Banks is ALWAYS frigg'n awesome, even if the final screwed-with result itself isn't so hot.

Bloody BEAUTIFUL car too! (and I have a Classic Mustang! But, even so...)

I was a LITTLE generous in giving this a 6; but, there's some mild fun to be had. Just try your best to overlook the amateurish result from studio meddling and accept it for the CHEEEEEEEEEZ that it is. Sit back and enjoy Danny Trejo's Bad@ssedness, and you should have a fun ride...
