In Reynosa, Mexico, an elite US joint special-ops team makes a raid to capture Luis Cisneros, who has taken over the Molina drug cartel, and who has cooperated with the Hezbollah; due to a leak, however, the team walks into an ambush; Granger tasks the Callen team to pinpoint the breach. Eric and Nell narrow the field of suspects to a group of civilian tactical role players (TRPs), who, under Inman, posed as the bad guys during the drills to prepare for the raid; the fearless foursome go undercover as another elite team to become close to the TRPs; during the first exercise the TRPs kick the team's tails; the second drill becomes real, and one TRP dies. Granger takes Inman to the boatshed, and G and Sam realize that Granger and Inman share something in the past; Nell goes into the field to do some work, and the others lose contact with her; she gets into trouble, but she defeats her captor; the team put all the pieces together and grab Cisneros, and Nell accepts an apology.
