Olsen Twins are 'teetering' on joining 'Fuller House'

1 hour ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Earlier this year, Netflix announced that it would bring the popular late '80s/early '90s sitcom "Full House" back to life in the newly (aptly) titled "Fuller House". John Stamos, who starred as "Uncle Jesse" Katsopolis is serving as executive producer on the series and will star along with original players Bob Saget as Danny Tanner, Candace Cameron-Bure as DJ Tanner, Jodie Sweetin as Stephanie Tanner, Andrea Barder as wacky neighbor Kimmy Gibbler, and Dave Coulier as uncle Joey - among others. However, more than nearly any other character, fans have been anxious to hear if Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen -- who as a pair played the precocious and adorable Michelle Tanner -- may return. At today's TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour Netflix chief content officer, Ted Sarandos said that the 29-year-old Olsen twins are in fact "teetering" on a decision to join. The series is in production now, »

Mr. Turner Finally Showed Up on Girl Meets World: He’s Still Alive (and Smokin’ Hot)

5 hours ago | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Boy Meets World fans have waited nearly 20 years to find out whatever happened to Mr. Turner. The beloved high-school English teacher/Shawn's mentor/every middle-school girl's crush last appeared on the show in season four's "Cult Fiction," where he got into a serious motorcycle accident. His name was mentioned in passing by Stuart Minkus in the graduation episode (in a pretty meta joke about how both he and Mr. Turner disappeared from the show), but we never quite knew what happened to him ... until now. Mr. Turner made his long-awaited return to to the BMW universe, in a cameo on the show's spinoff, Girl Meets World. Good news: He didn't die! In fact, he married his nurse from the hospital, became a school superintendent in Manhattan, and eventually gave Cory Matthews his teaching job. Cory's daughter Riley even calls him Uncle John. Maitland Ward on Handling Overzealous Cosplay Fans: I Have an Army Around Me

18 July 2015 7:00 AM, PDT | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

Maitland Ward has become a staple at Comic-Con, and she never fails to create some buzz over her racy costumes. The 38-year-old actress and former "Boy Meets World" star wowed fans as Wonder Woman and an Orion slave girl from "Star Trek" this year, but admits she had to come up with a plan to ward off a few of her overzealous admirers. "When I'm wearing a skimpy outfit, there are certain guys who come around a lot and want to take pictures," she told toofab's Kristen Gill. "They want to hug you -- it's a little creepy. I try to have a little army around me." While certain cosplay connoisseurs get a little too close for comfort, the redhead said most of her fans are "pretty good." "They're not like crazy guys at a club or something," she declared. "People here understand, there are a lot of people that are really into the characters. »

Politicians Pay Attention: Girl Meets World Just Laid Out What You Should Be Doing for Kids’ Futures

14 July 2015 7:13 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

A brilliant message for the generation of tomorrow, coupled with the surprise return of yet another BMW fan-favorite, made the latest episode of Girl Meets World the best yet. Just when I thought Girl Meets World couldn’t get any better, the show went political. This was both a bold and brilliant move, given the upcoming presidential election. Today’s politics have become so much more about choosing a side, about who is right and who is wrong. Girl Meets World displayed a powerful message (albeit with a couple of political stretches and kid-friendly jokes) about what politics are supposed to be about. Quick Recap: Eric Matthews (Will Friedle) returned this week on Girl Meets World to ask his family for help running for New York State Senator. Yes, I know giving that much power to a man who eats cereal without a spoon and walks around like a caveman half of… »

Kel Mitchell, who rose to fame on a slew of Nickelodeon’s ’90s staples, is coming back to his roots for a brand new series at the network, Variety has learned.

Mitchell, who starred on teen sketch comedy “All That,” followed by his own show “Kenan & Kel” with “SNL’s” Kenan Thompson and feature film “Good Burger,” will star in new live-action sitcom “Game Shakers,” which follows two 12-year-old girls (Cree Cicchino and Madisyn Shipman) who start a multimillion-dollar gaming company and have no choice but to take on rap superstar Double G (Mitchell) as their business partner.

The project not only marks Mitchell’s regular return to Nickelodeon, but also a reunion with series creator Dan Schneider, who worked on “All That,” “Kenan & Kel” and “Good Burger” before creating kids’ hits “Victorious,” “iCarly,” “Sam & Cat,” “Zoey 101,” “Drake & Josh” and “The Amanda Show.”

TV Revivals Making a Comeback: ‘Coach,’ ‘X-Files,’ ‘Fuller House’ & More

15 June 2015 9:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Looking ahead to the new season, TV is looking way back.

Television revivals are filling up programming slates with everything from Fox’s “The X-Files” to Netflix’s “Fuller House” to NBC’s “Heroes Reborn” — and, yes, the return of ’90s comedy “Coach.”

“These revivals came to us in the form of original creators having a burning passion to revisit their shows,” NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke tells Variety. “In the case of both ‘Coach’ and ‘Heroes,’ both creators came in to talk about why they think these shows needed to come back to network television. They had relevant stories to tell.”

Though these new shows have familiar titles, don’t expect the TV revival trend to look like repeats. “We couldn’t argue with the fact the new creative directions were really compelling,” Salke says. “We would have leaned into these projects even if there hadn’t been an original series. »
