Parenthood Small Victories
9 January 2013 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Crosby: Rene has seemed to disturb Crosby's living so much he has to pee outside. Crosby comes home from work and now Rene has taken over when and what he eats because she cooks dinner early. At work Crosby gets the message Rene got the job she applied for. Crosby comes home to celebrate but finds out Rene did not take the job because she would not get benefits. Rene tells Crosby she is sorry for talking his space and everyone just goes against Crosby including Jasmine.

Max: Max is starting to get older and when Kristina tells him to get a shower he does not want to. Max is told by his parents about getting older in small details that he already knows about. Zeek and Camille come over to have dinner and Max cannot stop talking about what he learned about puberty. Krisitna asks Adam to have the talk with Max and he has to do it because he is a dad talking to a son. Max does not think puberty is strange because of his lizard but is not ready for the girls talk. Max has a shower and Adam tells Kristina the full story.

Drew: Drew drops Amy off at school and when he thinks she wants to break up with him again she tells him that she is pregnant which shocks him. Drew thinks everything will be fine but all is not and Mark notices something is going on. Mark try's to talk to Drew but Drew continues to keep his secrets. Drew drives by Amy's who has to get tested to see if she is fully pregnant but still worries about the pregnancy. Mark stops by the photography office to tell Sarah he believes something might be wrong with Drew. Sarah try's to talk to Drew but in his depression he just lies to her. Amy and Drew go for the test where Amy only sees one decision even though Drew wants to keep the baby. Hank asks Sarah about Drew coming to the conclusion Mark still has feelings for her. Drew tells Amber who is fully accepting of Amy's decision. Drew cry's in front of Amber because he does not want to lose the baby. Amy and Drew go for the abortion and Amy gets it but does not want to see Drew after. Sarah calls by Mark's where he says he wishes he fought for Sarah. Drew finally cries for his mom because of all the stress he was put through.

Julia and Victor: Victor is using language when Julia try's to please him Sydney keeps wondering why he never gets punished. Victor once again does not come to dinner and Julia has to go up to his room to ask him to come down. They find him eating sweets that Julia owned. She then takes them off him and when he falls he once again gets mad at her. The police come by Julia's because Victor called 911 on child abuse in the home. The abuse is then just solved as a misunderstanding but once the police leave Julia does not want to speak or see Victor. The social worker visits the house and Julia tells her feelings about not adopting Victor.

One of the best dramas before tackles more serious story lines from cancer now to teen pregnancy and handled it well. Most of the episode worked but still Crosby and Sarah are characters that are made to be dramatic but come off comedic which does not work all the time.

EPISODE GRADE: B+ (MVP: Erika Christensen)
