Meh

While I really enjoyed having more women in the episode, Eva Pierce's character is a bit much. I couldn't help but literally laugh aloud during her seductive scenes, especially during Murdoch's dream-Eva's hair down looked a ratty mess, compared with her come hither looks it was just hilarious! Dr. Ogden's amusement at the situation was perfect.

A strong episode for this season
joshua-verse916 January 2016
This was quite an enjoyable episode. The show appears to have been given a slightly larger budget. The music, lighting, costumes, and sets have improved in quality, especially compared to season 1 episodes.

With this episode, we have a variety of possible suspects with various motives. One of the suspects even seems to get the upper hand over Murdoch!

The only downside is the Dr. Ogden subplot, but I've decided not to rate episodes poorly anymore just because the writers insist on continuing with this abominable plot line. I had really hoped they would get rid of Julia. I've disliked her character since the first episode, and the dislike has only grown with every season. And I'm incredibly annoyed that Murdoch continues to be attracted to her for some reason. The person you love should make you a better person, not worse. There is nothing romantic about the relationship between Murdoch and Julia, and it seems in fact to be a rather destructive relationship.

I definitely recommend this episode, but be prepared for further frustration with the Murdoch/Julia story arc.

Department store manager murdered
ctyankee127 April 2015
Preston Monk, a department store manager is found dead in an elevator shaft. At first it was thought to be an accident then after Dr Grace the coroner examined him she said Monk was murdered.

Mr Monk hired only single women and he was mean (in Murdoch the men are mean and weak the women strong and smart). He criticize the women employees and has Miss Eva Pearce be in charge of them them. Miss Pearce has a way with men. She thinks she is better then women and treats the female employees just as bad as Mr Monk. She flirts with men and uses gestures & other deceptions she feels works with men.

Murdoch and Crabtree look for finger prints and other things to find out who killed Mr Preston because there was a funny mark that pieced his skull when they found him dead.

It looks like the women did not like Monk and they don't like Miss Pearce so there are a number of suspects.

Murdoch interviews Miss Pearce and is captivated by her. You can see it in his eyes. Later there is a tacky scene with Miss Pearce undressing and kissing Murdoch. This was a dream he relates to Dr Odgen his girlfriend who is now into some kind of psychiatry instead of being the coroner. She is also kind of jealous.

Dr Ogden has bad news for Murdoch, her husband Darcy wants to stay married and won't give her a annulment/divorce. She ends up telling Murdoch they could live together.

At the end Murdoch tells her they will only live together if they are married. For once he stood up for something moral.

In this episode a young man dies who worked in the store. He was also murdered. The two deaths are connected with the women in the store.

Spoiled Julia.

Finally someone says no to Julia, I laughed when Darcy tore up the divorce papers. I notice when she doesn't get her way, she gets an attitude. Then telling William they will live together anyway.. She doesn't care about his reputation or his feelings. He should have been done with her when she told him one time, Damn your God. She knows he believes in his faith. It's all about her and what she wants. Some of the things she does is definitely out of order. She knew she didn't love Darcy, why marry him?? I think she loved it that two men wanted her. To me she's annoying, and I hate that giggle she does for no reason. Her simpering, and whining is too much. William needs to take some the air out of her, and put her in her place. I dislike her as much as Ms cherry,.
