12 July 2017 9:13 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

You can’t always get what you want. That’s how the song goes, but it hasn’t stopped us from hoping – not when it comes to the second “X-Files” revival and not when it comes to the 2017 Emmy Awards.

Nominations will be announced Thursday morning from the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood. Anna Chlumsky and Shemar Moore will read the chosen nominees, but until that moment arrives — when dreams are dashed and the cold light of day sets in — the dark horse contenders can still believe.

Read More2017 Emmy Predictions

And we can still believe in them. This year’s Emmy race has been incredibly competitive. With Netflix and Amazon measuring appendages and a packed Fyc calendar from April 1 through early June, there are clearly more deserving vote getters than there will be nominees.

So let’s talk about the long shots one more time »

Not all horror films need some supernatural or paranormal element to them. In fact, some of the genre’s best efforts have been the most simple ones, with a grounded threat that feels real and believable. No one knows that better than John Carpenter, who struck gold with Halloween, one of the greatest horror movies of all-time. It needs no introduction at this point and as you’ve surely heard, Danny McBride and David Gordon Green will be rebooting the property with plans to release their film in 2018.

Thankfully, they’ll be doing away with all the nonsense that’s transformed Halloween into a bit of a joke in recent years. Apparently, the plan is to simply go back to basics and strip away everything that’s made the franchise so bloated – namely, the supernatural elements. »

As the song goes, "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do." No one knows that better than Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, who mutually decided to end their 11-year relationship last year. Neither has said much about the split in interviews, but in Vogue Australia's June issue, the actress admitted she's still processing the split. Liev, meanwhile, is now dating interior designer Morgan Brown (who has dated Gerard Butler). Naomi—mom to Sasha Schreiber, 9, and Samuel Schreiber, 7—stayed busy with work and relied on pals like Nicole Kidman post-breakup. "There »

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Season 3, Netflix

Synopsis: As Ben Travers put it in his season review: Through six episodes, Season 3 has shown far less reliance on the past and an invigorating interest in the future. It’s not that Kimmy’s time underground got stale so much as her rapid development into adulthood would inevitably require more time to be spent in the present. We’ve covered a lot of her arrested development, and now it’s time to see what kind of story an adult Kimmy has to tell. So far, it’s a damn good one. »

The Most Shameless Product Placements in Our Favorite Movies

17 May 2017 8:47 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Let’s face it: product placement is everywhere. Subtle to not-so-subtle advertisements wheedle their way into TV shows and movies so often that these days we barely blink at them. Then again, sometimes it’s just too glaring to ignore.

We may be streaming lifetime movies on Netflix or watching the newest blockbuster on the big screen when we encounter these product placement crimes. Even some of our most beloved films commit them. The following list details some of the most shameful product placements in our favorite movies:

1. Captain America Civil War– Audi (2016)

Danny McBride Says The Halloween Reboot Will Go Back To Basics

13 May 2017 11:20 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Not all horror films need some supernatural or paranormal element to them. In fact, some of the genre’s best efforts have been the most simple ones, with a grounded threat that feels real and believable. For many, that’s the scariest thing and it’s what made some of the classics from the 70s and 80s into the iconic films that they are today. Sometimes, all you really need is a psycho with a blade just killing people for no apparent reason.

No one knows that better than John Carpenter, who struck gold with Halloween, one of the greatest horror movies of all-time. It needs no introduction at this point, and as fans will know, the property has undergone some significant changes over the years. Currently, there are 10 entries in the franchise, and with numerous directors coming in to put their own spin on Michael Myers, the character isn »
