Storyline

It's her son Sam's birthday and Kiera is out of sorts.Vancouver PD has a new police chief and Insp. Dillon is replaced by Insp. Nora Harris whose main task is to find the mole in the department. Dillon warns Kiera to watch her back and she is soon being interrogated by Harris and CSIS agent Gardiner. When things get a bit testy with Gardiner, Kiera finds she's been taken off line by one of her built-in programs, a cognitive therapist, who cuts her communication with Alec in order to conduct a psych evaluation. The program tells her that it will erase her memories if she doesn't calm down. Kiera helps Betty get out of a jam. Matthew shows Alec the state of the art lab he's set up for him and Alec finally agrees to partner with him. Jason gives Alec a series of diagrams about time travel. Written by garykmcd

"Continuum" continues to get better
15 November 2017 | by See all my reviews

"Continuum" began with a lot of promise, but after the first few episodes I had the feeling I was watching just another version of "CSI" with slightly futuristic technology. The last episode of the first season steered the show back on track, and the second season has been a considerable improvement so far. This is the obligatory "mole inside the department" episode, and it doesn't have much action, but it does have a twist, and the idea of Kiera's "built-in" shrink, invisible to others, is close to brilliant. Alessandro Juliani does a great job in the role; he is both creepy and funny (when Kiera is in the middle of an urgent crisis situation, he calmly tells her that they need to talk about her feelings!). And if she's not "cured" in an hour, all the memories causing her distress (mainly those of her son) will be erased. THIS is the kind of concept that I watch sci-fi for in the first place. *** out of 4.
