Storyline

Micah Erlich hires Holmes to solve urgently the robbery of diamonds in David Batonvert's Manhattan exchange from his world-reputed security firm's top-range vault model, the 'impregnable' Leviathan, before the news wrecks the manufacturer. Both men remember it was actually cracked once four years ago by a brilliant team of four, who were tried and jailed, but draw different conclusions concerning a connection, which Holmes has to revise while his investigation progresses with the help of his own consultants. Meanwhile he helps Watson deal with her unexpectedly visiting family rather then cancel her buddy job with him. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

The Malbolge program in the show is almost the real thing. It is the same program given in the Wikipedia article on Malbolge except for three or four altered characters about 30 characters missing from the end. The program in the Wikipedia article just displays "Hello World!". See more »

Goofs

The coffee order which linked the original Leviathan breakers, on the back of which the Malboge code is written, features the name of the second Leviathan breakers instead. See more »

Dr. Joan Watson: ...Yes.
Gwen Lynch: [laughs] I guess I should get dressed.
[Watson turns off the TV, then goes to the foyer to open the door]
Olivia Lynch: Sorry, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to get the-! Oh, you're not Sherlock.
[Watson does a double take]

Relations to the original stories
25 May 2013 | by See all my reviews

I can really see the relations to the original Holmes stories when I watch this series. Not the stories overall so much as the logic and the personalities of the characters. I love all of the original Sherlock Holmes stories so much, and I really like how they incorporate some of the lesser quotes that are still important in the stories. I've seen plot similarities in some of the stories to some of the episodes, but not nearly to the point where they're just doing a TV version of the texts, which makes it a lot more interesting this way. Having Watson as Lucy Liu is awesome, and I love how they incorporate the other characters too. I also find it interesting that they chose to start with Gregson rather than Lestrade. Still, it's awesome in my opinion. I even like it more so than BBC's Sherlock.
