Goofs

Joan erroneously says that the red-eye effect is caused be the tapetum lucidum. In fact, it is caused by the camera flash reflecting off the back of the eyeball. Humans do not even have tapeta lucida, which account for the glowing eyes of animals with good night vision. See more »

Gory as usual
6 December 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

At first I liked this series and still do like parts of the episodes. I find the episodes are really gory. In this one a man gets killed. The man gets both of his eyes shot our. They show a close-up of bloody eye sockets.

It shows Sherlock acting like a so smart investigator, examining the dead eyeless body like he is a piece of meat. Johnny Lee Miller was better, cuter, funnier and kinder in Eli Stone then as Sherlock in Elementary. Sherlock talks to fast and says to much it is hard to decipher what he is talking about. Dr Joan Watson is excellent. She is serious and understanding.

A previous episode had a killer taping pillows on his victims face. I think the writer of this is a sadist.

In this episode one of the killers wears a Cross with Jesus on it. I find that many criminal series killers, drug addicts, and other bad people are wearing Crosses, and other religious symbols like a prostitute wearing Cross ear rings with half her chest out, as if these people are Christians. Maybe in real life they are but this is insulting to the Cross and me. The writers are trying to belittle my Savior. This makes me mad but, as I write this I know Jesus came for the sinners, the killers, the prostitutes so in some way that Cross on the neck of these actors may bring someone to Christ.

I do wish this series had better writers. It has a lot of potential but needs improvement on the story lines.
