This movie pertains to a main disappearance of four teenagers camping on Garden Island, Michigan in 1989. Some people interested in doing paranormal research on that island contact some of the adults who were involved with that 1989 trip to help guide them while the researchers try to pick up evidence of supernatural occurrences. They're very good with the island history if not exactly on point. If this was about a walk in the park it wouldn't be very interesting. Much of it plays on the emotions of the leader of the the organization chapter that went camping while coming to terms with the loss. There are a few surprises (I don't like spoilers) that add dimension to the situation they're in. The characters themselves seem like what you would expect of ad hoc everyday people uniting on a modern quest. The chiding wears thin as the movie progresses and the tension increases as they fear potential retribution from spirits and other people on the island. It appears that there are controversies involved with this film. It's up to you to decide if what you're seeing or hearing is true. There also seems to be some court action over this movie, but I'm unclear as to the complaint. Overall, it's not a wow movie but a movie that might get you thinking about how you expect others to feel about our mixed history.
