Bad Robot, the company that is co-producing the film, tweeted out an image of JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and R2-D2 with two fan robot builders. It was then confirmed by the official Star Wars website that R2-D2 would in fact appear in the film and the fans would be building it. On April 29, 2014, Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels were included in the official cast list released by Lucasfilm, confirming the appearance of the two droids in the film.
No. Episode VII will be an original story, and all stories in comics, books, and graphic novels that tell what happened after "Return of the Jedi" will be called "Star Wars Legends."
Yes. It is Episode VII which follows Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The story will continue 30 years after the end of Episode VI.
At the moment it seems unlikely; while Obi-Wan's ghost appeared in Episode V and VI, him appearing in Episode VII has not yet been confirmed. Given that Sir Alec Guiness, who played Obi-Wan in the original trilogy has long since passed away, it's unlikely he will appear. The only possible ways are using a CG model of Sir Alec and an impersonator for his voice or by reincorporating stock footage of him from previous films or use a new actor to portray him. It's possible that Ewan MacGregor could play the character simply aged with makeup.
It is unknown at this time. While the majority of the original cast has been confirmed, Billy Dee Williams (who played Lando) has not been confirmed as of yet.
Sadly, no. Actor Denis Lawson, who played Wedge in the original trilogy was approached to reprise his role. When asked in an interview if he would appear, he simply said; "I'm not going to do that. It would just bore me.". Lawson also turned down a cameo in Episode III as Captain Antilles, the long-time owner of R2-D2 and C-3PO in between Episodes III and IV.
The Narrator's voice in the trailer is Andy Serkis, although his role in the film has not been revealed nor is it definitely dialogue from the film that his character will speak.
