This was a big "MIZtake"
callanvass18 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A former Bounty Hunter (Francia Raisa) leaves her tumultuous life behind when she decides to kick it to the curb for an easier lifestyle. She becomes an elementary school teacher, finding a fiancé in the process, who has no idea of the life Tory once lead. Tory is forced to go back to her old life when an old nemesis wants revenge. I don't wanna come across as the Grinch. I really did try to go into this movie with an open mind! I'm not that easy to please. I love wrestling, but I'm not a Miz fan. Naturally, when I found out about this movie I decided to avoid it like the plague. Don't ask me why or how, but for some reason I decided to give it a look! curiosity is a terrible thing sometimes, especially when you're a wrestling fan about to watch a WWE Studio's production. This movie is bland as you probably expected it to be. Every once in a while, a made for TV movie can wind up catching you by surprise. No such luck with this one. Movies involving Bounty Hunters rarely ever work out. There are so many things wrong with this movie that I don't know where to begin. Let's start with the awful Christmas tunes that made my ears bleed! It's full of cringe inducing comedy and sentimental BS, which gets tiring fast. The main problem with this movie is that there is not one likable character in this movie! Everybody is extremely annoying and very cartoonish, suffering from the pratfalls of the overly predictable script. The Miz's character isn't all that distinguishable from his persona in real life. He comes across as overly arrogant, but doesn't have the charisma to pull it off. "Mikey Muscles" ? Give me a break! When I heard him say "You're smoking hot ex-boyfriend" , I knew I was in trouble. Francia Raisa is thoroughly annoying and pretentious as our heroine. I couldn't stand to watch her. The love triangle with Miz & Greenberg was painful to watch. Will Greenberg plays the buffoonish fiancé well, annoying the crap out of me.

Boring action, painfully predictable romance, terrible characters, and poor writing really sink this movie. This is as bland as you can possibly get! I got what I deserved by choosing to watch this movie. Don't make the same mistake

Not the worst thing ever made
dellaroccokc3 December 2014
Watched it with a friend and his wife who like to make fun of bad movies. This film has the some things going for it in that its short, it didn't try to be smart in any way, and it knew what it wanted to be. And that is totally unoriginal, extremely watered down chick action movie. ABC Family has this weird guideline where cussing is not allowed, but light sexual innuendos are OK, it was kind of a weird balance. And no one gets shot either. Its like if there wasn't the sexual stuff this movie could be rated G. Also you better like Jersey. More than Christmas actually. Really this movie doesn't even mention Christmas, it just seems like something thats happening during the movie but they're too busy being Jersey. So being at they're from Jersey it makes everyone unlikable. And there's a pro wrestler playing the long lost love interest, and the main girl is falling back in love with him instead of her current boyfriend. But this guy looks like the biggest tool in the world, and no one wants to see that guy get the girl in the end. So thats a weird thing going on in the movie. And thats pretty much it. I could talk about the actual movie but there's really no point. But I got to say it didn't make me want to kill myself, which is a real testament to the movie. Movies are a dance, and sometimes it better to do the a good Hokey Pokey than f#$@ up the Waltz.

Bland even by holiday TV movie standards
jfgibson7315 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Christmas Bounty follows a young Manhattan teacher, Tara, who has all the pieces of an upscale life coming together. Then she has to go back to Jersey to her life as a bounty hunter to track down an ex con coming after her. Her Manhattan boyfriend complicates things by following her and getting in the middle of the firefights, but also making things awkward for her Jersey ex, Mike. This movie has the feel of a t.v. family film, but then stages scenes where bounty hunters and criminals are pointing guns at each other. And instead of feeling any kind of tension, I'm thinking, "They can't actually have someone get shot on an ABCFamily movie, can they?" I don't know what kind of family would want to sit through this anyway, because it doesn't work for kids--the story is all gun fights and love triangles. It has nothing to do with Christmas, by the way, which will probably complicate the network's plan to turn it into a perennial holiday classic. The acting is cartoonish and the action is completely bland. I can't imagine anyone finding it entertaining. Possible career-ender for The Miz and anyone else involved.

Ridiculously Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
There hasn't been a new Christmas movie that has been worth watching in a very very long time.

This movie reminded me of bumbling three stooges type of antics.

SPOILER WARNING BE ADVISED. STOP IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO KNOW MOVIE DETAILS

A very unrealistic slapstick goofy dumb and dumber type of film where thousands of gun shots are fired by not only the bounty hunter family and co-workers, but the bad guys as well.

NOT ONE of those thousands of gun shots ever hit anyone. Bounty hunters that can't hit their target? Really? Every thing else was hit BUT the actual target.

Maybe this movie was meant to be a slapstick type of comedy where you're not supposed to take it too seriously, but it went way past that.

C'mon ABC Family, Hallmark, Lifetime and other networks that normally put out new Christmas movies every year. Please make a Christmas movie that is truly worth the viewers time. It is rare to see a really good heartfelt holiday movie with great acting and a very good script that was executed brilliantly. While rare, they ARE out there but they're few and far between.

These dumb holiday movies that they throw at you every year are tiring and a waste of time.

eye candy for both the guys and gals
jfarms19562 December 2013
The movie Christmas Bounty is for those who like lots of action and for those who are 13 and older. Christmas Bounty has little to do with Christmas except it is happening during the Christmas season. It could be placed at any time of the year. There is no Christmas magic. The movie will also put a smile on your face during its comedic scenes. There is eye candy for both the guys and gals, mostly the guys as the lead and many of the supporting actresses are "hottie." The action in the film helps to maintain your involvement in the film. The movie would be enjoyed by adults without small children. Pop your bowl of popcorn or have pizza delivered for this film.

A different kind of Christmas movie
jrmoviemaniac26 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie earlier tonight and i was very surprised. Its not your average Christmas movie its about two people who are bounty hunters trying to get this criminal before Christmas.Thats a brief summary but its an interesting premise.I did enjoy this film for what it was:The actors got the job done especially WWE wrestler The Miz.Francia Raisa did fine for the role she had to play, and the rest of the cast for the most part did a good job.The action sequences were done well without bad editing or shaky cam which I hate in most movies today. There are some flaws:The film is predictable in some cases, and some things could have been cut like the scenes in the club, the break dancing at the end,and some sexual innuendos.Overall, its a decent film thats not for everyone(Just a little warning)but I found it entertaining.6/10

Love it and watch it every year
HotToastyRag18 December 2019
I'm probably the last person in the world you'd expect to love Christmas Bounty and watch it every year. I've never seen a wrestling match in my life, and I'm not really a fan of action movies unless they're really, really good. I have no desire to ever ride a motorcycle, and I've never watched Jersey Shore. Miraculously, I do love this movie and watch it every year. It's just so much fun!

Produced by WWE (and ABC Family), this movie is full of awesome action scenes surrounding a hilarious plot and all set during Christmas. Really, this isn't really a Christmas movie, but when you think about it, neither is It's a Wonderful Life. Anyway, the hero of the story is a beautiful, young elementary school teacher with a secret past. Her boyfriend thinks she's uncomplicated and classy, but she's actually part of a family of bounty hunters from New Jersey! When a criminal threatens her family, she has to return to her hometown and team up with her hilarious parents and hunky ex-boyfriend to catch him.

I love how simple and silly this movie is. The love triangle is suspenseful because neither guy does anything terrible. They both care for her, and they're both nice, good guys. A friend she left behind may come across as a bimbo, but she's not jealous or spiteful, and she supports her friend no matter what. Basically, there are no bad guys besides the actual bad guys, and sometimes that's exactly what I need when I want to relax in front of a movie. Christmas Bounty has so many hilarious moments, and everything you'd expect to be included in a Jersey movie: big hair, leopard print everything, gold pants, motorcycles, thick accents, and funny nicknames. Where else will you find characters named Lizzy Legs and Mikey Muscles? Where else will a spray tan be an integral plot point, or a dance-off cover the closing credits? Be bold this holiday season and try out a movie that's not your typical fare. If I, the absolute opposite of the target audience, liked it, you might, too.

Just a fun, delightful, harmless family film.

No it's nothing spectacular. But you're probably gonna smile the whole Wsup through. Parents and children can watch this and enjoy it as a family. And if that's not quality, Idk what is.

Hilariously bad, yet amazing
brookenichole-9805410 December 2020
The first time I watched Christmas Bounty I laughed more than I thought I would. There were plenty of moments where it was just so bad. The acting can get bad with some of the actors, but the story is great. The Miz surprisingly does a great job at acting and the fighting. I enjoyed his chemistry with Francia Raisa. The funny thing is that this movie is hilariously bad, yet amazing. I found myself really enjoying it. I would say to give it a try because either way you'll be laughing.
