Storyline
Will Gardner is defending a woman who is accused of murdering her husband. New Assistant State's Attorney Laura Hellinger is proving quite effective and Will isn't scoring very many points with Judge Harrington Creary. That evening, Will runs into Judge Creary in a bar and is shocked when Creary tells him he's a liar and a thief and that his client is guilty. The next day Alicia asks the judge to recuse himself and when he refuses, she insists on a hearing to determine whether he should be removed. The judge denies under oath having said any of the statements attributed to him. It turns out the judge has something of a drinking problem. Meanwhile, Alicia's daughter Grace takes an interest in a fellow student, Connor. Cary Agos is severely beaten in a parking lot. Written by

Excellent episode where Judd Hirsch plays an alcoholic judge who throws a temper tantrum at Will at a bar. He claims that the latter is a liar, the person he represents is guilty and that if he had his way, Will would no longer be practicing law. After this outburst, Will files a motion that the judge should recuse himself from the hearing.
It appears that Cary has been assaulted, but I think there is more to this than the obvious fact that Kalinda's jealous husband thinks that the two are having some sort of an affair.
At school, Grace befriends a guy whose girlfriend killed herself four days after they broke up and Zack looks to volunteer in his dad's campaign for governor.
A very good episode depicting a judge's bias.
