Storyline

Jerry Trainor returns to portray a character not of, but similar to, Spencer Shay. Instead he plays Vinnie, the eccentric owner of a pop culture memorabilia store in Los Angeles, whose breaks are spent only reading comics and playing video games. Soon, his 12-year old nephew, Wendell, pays him a visit. From that moment forward, Vinnie's life is turned upside down: he assumes legal guardianship over Wendell. Wendell is wise-beyond-his-years, while Vinnie is clueless, but with the help of his sister (Wilma, a frightening personal injury attorney), the girl next door (Taryn, a newly-divorced Texan girl of Vinnie's dreams) and Wendell himself, he finally gets the hang of it and does whatever he can to make a fine father. On the other hand, Wendell might just be the parent Vinnie needs! Written by Raymond A. Waldrop

Finally a new Nick show that isn't aimed at 8 year olds
28 March 2013 | by See all my reviews

Just saw this show for the first time and I think its great! this is the best Nick sitcom since Drake and Josh. The humor is for the older age group and there's some pretty funny actors. I really hope this show doesn't get cancelled. Its nice to see a show that younger and older kids can like on Nickelodeon these days. Hopefully they don't have to tone this show down since over protective parents will probably complain about the use of "hell" and "damn" and suggestive references. Its not too much. I think people of all ages could enjoy this show. Thank you Nickelodeon for finally coming out with a good new show. I can't wait to see the new episodes. Old nick may be coming back. 9/10
