Including this movie, the franchise has an accumulative $18 million budget. The first five films of the franchise have, altogether, grossed a total of $811 million.
Producers Jason Blum and Oren Peli have confirmed that this will mark the final installment of the franchise.
The only movie in the Paranormal Activity franchise not to feature Katie Featherston as adult Katie. She is only referenced in this one.

There was problems with the release date of this movie: it was originally going to have a 2013 release, but then was postponed to October 24, 2014, a year later. Then it was pushed to March 13th, 2015, next to an unknown date in 2016 and finally postponed till October 23rd 2015.

World-renowned Anomalist and Parapsychologist/Paranormal-Researcher Christopher Chacon was utilized by Paramount Studios to nationally/internationally promote the release of the movie.
