18 January 2017 8:24 AM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Film reviewing can be a blood sport – not everything is a highfalutin art night at the cinema. The three reviewers of HollywoodChicago.com – Patrick McDonald, Spike Walters and Jon Espino – did spend some time wasting energy on some really bad movies in 2016, and lived to tell about it.

There are no rankings, because they are all rank. The ten are listed in descending levels of dread, with stars like Bobby De Niro and George Clooney representing, as well as superheroes and overwrought CGI epics making the “grade.” The persons responsible for the descriptive honors are marked accordingly, Pm for for Patrick, Sw for Spike and Je for Jon. Cover your eyes and gird your loins, these are the 10 Worst Films of 2016, by HollywoodChicago.com.

Zach Galifianakis Created a Gerrymandering Documentary Named ‘Democracy for Sale’ – Watch Clip

14 January 2017 3:44 PM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Zach Galifianakis’ documentary, “Democracy For Sale,” looks at how bad gerrymandering has gotten in his home state of North Carolina. The film was originally part of Epix’s original docuseries “America Divided,” produced by Common, Norman Lear and Shonda Rhimes, which premiered back in September. Now, according to the News Observer, the doc will be screened across North Carolina in January and February.

In the film, the actor discusses the state’s transformed politics and, per the project’s website, “how the money of a few has come to dominate our democracy.”

A clip for the documentary shows Galifianakis talking with former Democratic North Carolina state senator Margaret Dickson about how the  state’s districts have been changed.

“People feel like they’ve lost control of the process and in some ways they have,” she says in the video. “The redistricting is being done my people far away…I wish »

While we'll likely have to wait a short while for the full nominations to be unveiled, the 2017 Razzies short list has been unveiled, and it seems that Warner Bros.' blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has found itself in almost every category.

The nominations short list was unveiled by a YouTube user dubbed "truthhopelove," who took a video showing an email he received which features the 2017 Razzie nominations short list. The email reveals that voting will close on January 16, although the nominations won't be released until a few days later. Traditionally, the Razzie nominations come one day before the Oscar nominations are announced, »
