"We didn't have him for long but he changed everything"
7 December 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

A quietly beautiful episode, with the B-plot of Roo and Harvey's latest drama sensibly confined to the scenes either side of the funeral, with Dexter's comment serving to help Roo come to her senses. At the centre of the episode is a moving speech from April, showing she can be a decent character if she's given more to do than moon over Dexter, which encapsulates how far the characters have come.

Little character moments pepper the episode:Casey's apology to Heath for not being there for him more, Cheryl thanking Irene for looking after her grandson, Heath's simple explanation to Cheryl for the quiet service. The surfing ending is a bit silly but also rather sweet.Bianca isn't being very sympathetically characterised but perhaps she can be given some leeway in the circumstances and having her present at the end is a nice touch.
