Very cute

It's not an earth shattering film. But then, it doesn't pretend to be. It's a short, only about 15 minutes in length.

There are no profound take-aways.

If you're just looking to be entertained, rather than seeking hidden symbolism or serious allegory, you probably won't be disappointed. It's a cute, honest little film about a couple in need of a new mattress.

There are some very cute performances, especially by the supporting cast members, most of whom are shoppers at the big box mattress store who end up involved in the couple's search for just the right mattress.

Overall, funny and entertaining.

Sorbet

I'm trying to make a dent in the list of gay-themed short films I've amassed.

Some have been deep, many present self-reflections, I've struggled to get through some, others I've watched and still wonder what they were supposed to be about. I even accidentally watched one that wasn't gay-themed at all.

Then I watched this one.

It's not heavy. It's not loaded with important messages or lessons. It doesn't have nakedness, or drool-worthy cast members. ... Sorry, guys. :-)

It is, though, very funny. A quarter-of-an-hour well spent and, like a sorbet between courses, I'm now refreshed and ready to tackle another batch of 'meaningful' movies.

A nice short film, childish story, not the best animation parts but seductive just as easy comedy. A couple, an old mattress , shoping in furniture store and a so bizarretest than it is at the limit of grotesque. But, without be great, it has few good moments, interesting storytelling and ironic to absurde end.

A couple funny moments, but not enough

Warning: Spoilers
"Spooners" is a 14-minute movie from 2 years ago and it is actually another of these uncountable mediocre gay-themed short films. This one is about a gay couple deciding they need a new futon, so one of them goes off to buy it, but the other is late. Meanwhile, the guy who is alone at the furniture store gets a bit of unwanted attention from a machine that is supposed to find the perfect futon for everybody. I thought this little film written and directed by Bryan Horch had some good moments and is certainly not a failure, but as a whole it left me hoping it was better, funnier and I cannot say I am too interested in the other works by Horch or the lead actors. There were some downright embarrassing scenes though, for example the short animated dancing sequence, with the head only by the main character. All in all, not recommended and certainly not worthy of all the awards it got.
