References

Psycho (1960)
The setting of the roadside motel and the scene in the bathroom directly reference the classic Hitchcock horror film.
Speed Racer (1967) (TV Series)
"Speed Lacer"
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
The scary black-and-white movie that the toys are watching at the beginning is an homage to George Romero's zombie film. 'Betsy's' panicked flight through a graveyard echoes Betsy and Johnny's encounter with the undead at the beginning of Night of the Living Dead.
Predator (1987)
Carl Weathers voices an action figure, Combat Carl, that looks just like his character, Dillon, in Predator. Combat Carl loses a hand, which is similar to Dillon losing part of his arm in Predator. Also, when Jessie first meets Combat Carl, we hear him say, "Over here." That is what Bill Duke's character says to Dillon in Predator when he has the scorpion on his back.
Happy Gilmore (1996)
Combat Carl (Carl Weathers) lost his hand to an Iguana, similar to who his character in Happy Gilmore who lost a hand to an alligator.
The Incredibles (2004)
In the opening sequence, the woman in the b&w movie trips and falls on a tombstone. It reads "Simon J. Paladino - A public servant with a bright vision." In The Incredibles, Gazerbeam was Simon J. Paladino's alter ego. As Simon, he was a public advocate for superhero rights. He died in that movie. And now we see his tombstone.
