Storyline

The team investigates the death of a young red-headed woman who was found in a shallow grave on the autobahn near the German-Polish border. The Polish police subsequently found an abandoned car with strands of red hair that are a match for the victim. Sebastian Berger and Carl Hickman are dispatched to investigate and soon find a dumping ground with 7 additional corpses in various stages of decomposition. They find prospective witnesses to what may have happened but questioned separately, the husband and wife in question both claim to have killed her. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

During the first seconds a BMW is seen with a German license plate from Berlin (B GNH 554). After the first gap, German plates have one or two letters, but never three. Some seconds later a truck comes closer with the same mistake, but with a (supposed to be) Stuttgart license plate (S DAG 290). Additionally the "DMV" sticker is missing on the plate. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Michel Dorn: Guten morgen, Kommissar Berger.
Sebastian Berger: Good morning, sir.
Michel Dorn: There are parks in The Hague, you know. I can recommend Clingendael. I often get lost in the Japanese garden. This is the Parc de Saint-Cloud in Paris?
Sebastian Berger: Where the diplomat's last victim was found. The killer is standing somewhere out here, only... I didn't get him. My scangen fell short. If I could only find a way to extend the borders of the scan to not require as precise a sensor.
Michel Dorn: Well, I'll leave you to your work.
Sebastian Berger: I can still see...

A New Set of Villains
31 May 2017 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Although the crime itself is pretty far-fetched, the efforts to solve it are pretty well set up. A band of truckers have created a kind of fight club where they find couples with small children and force them to fight to the death. Why is this? That's a significant issue, certainly. It would seem that at some point someone would get wise to the situation. Still, the dark movements of the special squad are really interesting. The culminating scene is very well staged but with some serious risk. There is a dumping site of bodies that somehow brings back serious memories to Donald Sutherland's character. The setting up of this episode is its strongest recommendation. Having just watched "Nocturnal Animals," the threat of someone lost on a highway and approached by bad guys becomes pretty frightening..
