Live from Portland, Maine

Your commentators are Jim Ross, Kevin Kelly & Michael Cole. (Poor, J.R)

Vince McMahon starts the show to a mixed reaction. Vince says he's not denying the popularity of Steve Austin. He says Austin has got away with murder as of late. He says Austin has attacked officials, announcers, including yours truly (Vince. Huge pop for that) He says Austin endangered the lives of fans by driving his pick-up truck into the arena and into the ring. Vince says Austin stunned the referee and the referee that counted the three had no authority to count the three. He demands Austin defend the Intercontinental Title against The Rock later tonight. Austin comes out to a humongous pop. Austin says he does what he wants, when he wants. Vince says he's Austin's boss. Austin says that didn't impress him and he doesn't give a damn. Vince says there will be consequences if he doesn't defend the title later tonight. Austin asks the crowd to give him a hell yeah, if they wanna see Vince get his ass whipped. They respond accordingly, to say the least. Vince berates Austin over his language. Austin curses like a sailor in response. Austin says he won the title, fair and square last night. He says he's gonna go backstage and pop a top on a beer, eat a hot dog or two, and then give him an answer later tonight. He says somebody's gonna get their ass whipped tonight and it may just be Vince's sorry ass. Classic stuff here.

The Legion of Doom Vs Southern Justice (W/The New Age Outlaws)

LOD wins by DQ after Kane comes out and destroys LOD. Crappy match, but it gave Kane even more momentum Overall, the angle was a success.

* out of 5

The New Age Outlaws claim there is no more competition. They call LOD "OLD" and sing "Na, na, na" They issue an open challenge to anyone in the back. Dude Love comes out.

Dude Love Vs Billy Gunn

Dude Love wins with Sweet Chin Music, but pays the price afterwards when Road Dog nails him in the head with a chair. They place the tag belts over Foley's face, as Billy drops a leg drop on him from the top. (He missed the mark, big time) The match was alright.

*1/2 out of 5

The Rock says it's not about 3:16, it's about Rock, 911. He's gonna kick his ass tonight. He calls himself the People's Champion and the best damn Intercontinental Champion, there ever was.

Taka Michinoku comes out for an interview. Jim Ross teaches Taka the word "slobberknocker" Jerry Lawler interrupts. Lawler makes extremely racist comments about Taka and Japan. Lawler says Taka needs to learn the English language. Taka says "You, jackass" Haha! El Unico comes out. Apparently, he's Taka's next challenger. El Unico shoves Jerry Lawler. It turns out to be, Brian Christopher, as the crowd yells "Jerry's kid" Christopher and Lawler give Taka the spike piledriver.

Flash Funk Vs Kurgan

Kurgan initially wins, but the ref reverses the decision when Kurgan won't release the claw hold. The Jackal slaps Kurgan and Kurgan just laughs. Kurgan was another crappy big man who Vince probably blew his load over.

Ken Shamrock says he had Shawn Michaels beat at Degeneration X. He says it isn't over and he's gonna get Shawn. Not before politics get you first, Ken.

Degeneration X come out. Shawn Michaels compares Owen Hart to a nugget that won't flush in the toilet. DX plays strip poker, drinks Jack Daniels, and smokes cigars while they wait for Owen Hart to come out. The DOA interrupts.

Skull & 8-Ball Vs Los Boricuas

Los Borircuas wins. Who cares!

3/4* out of 5

The Headbangers interrupt DX's poker game. Shawn strips to his boxers, then DX destroys The Headbangers. Owen Hart comes in through the crowd and gets some shots in on Shawn Michaels before escaping through the crowd.

Jeff Jarrett Vs Vader

Jarrett wins by countout after Goldust comes out and flashes Vader. Not much to say here.

Marc Mero Vs Salvatore Sincere

Mero makes fun of Sincere and breaks the fourth wall by saying Sincere's real name is Tom Brandi. Obviously, it's scripted, but still kinda cool. Sable comes out, wearing a potato sack. She disrobes to reveal a bikini. Sincere dropkicks him over the top rope and wins by countout after Mero takes her to the back and covers her up.

Intercontinental Title

Stone Cold (C) Vs The Rock

Stone Cold says he refuses to wrestle The Rock tonight because he already whipped The Rock's ass. Austin asks if Vince is gonna fire him. The Rock says Vince should fire him. Vince says he's stripping Austin of the title and giving it to The Rock. He says he'll knock Vince's teeth out if he tries to pry it from him. Austin says he's only interested in the WWF title. He hands The Rock the title and tells Rock to trust him. He raises his hand, then stuns him as soon as The Rock turns his back. DTA, Rock. He tells Vince to tune into the Stone Cold channel next week to see what he'll do with the Intercontinental Title. Austin bounces off the ropes and knocks Vince right off the apron. Vince is livid.
