OKLAHOMA, 1935. The few residents that remain in the decaying town of Rosston cling to the hope of a future free from drought, famine and the horror of suffocating dust storms. Among the remaining few are young Wes and Saide, high school seniors caught in the throes of adolescent love. When a group of enigmatic freaks appear one day, their presence and intent throw the town into chaos, causing its flimsy social order to crumble under the weight of their primeval barbarism.
